Information on Bob Reid?

Hello all: new to the site and interested in info on Bob Reid, bassist, pianist and leader of the Emergency Sound, which I have newly discovered. I know he spent much time in Europe but I'm particularly interested in where he was born and early info. I read one reference that stated he was from Alabama, USA. Any info greatly appreciated.

Was Bob Reid the brother of Steve Reid?

Since noone else is commenting, I'll pass this on as a query. I've no idea where I got hold of the idea.

I got some information about Robert "Bob" Reid (born 1890 in Newtongrange, Midlothian, Scotland - died 1998) was a former professional footballer, who played for Burnley, Huddersfield Town and Southend United.

Most of the people really want to know about his background and his personal information. In web hosting you are dealing different site. From doing my job i got this information. If i got some more information in future then surly i will share with you. And hopefully you too share with us if u got it.

moderator's note

comments like this usually get deleted, but this one was so crap i thought it was amusing, so i took out the live link and left it where it was. just in case anyone thought that it was there due to neglect, and that the site was going to wrack, or indeed, ruin.

It seems there's a future in spamming for you, Mr. Y

OK

that's enough jollity on that particular tip, so i've blocked mical, and he'll have to find some other avenue for his devotion to Bob Reid, former Huddersfield Town and Burnley player.

I knew Bob Reid in Paris

I met him at the American Center on Blvd Raspail in 1974. He was the first guy I ever met with dreadlocks. I was 21 and from Chicago.
Bob was notorious, a bit gruff, and had some strange dealings in Paris in the summer when August came round from what I understand. I do not remember him as a strong bass player. I remember him more for his antics at intimidation. I shot photos of his Emergency Sound performance for Africa is Calling. I was young naive and way out of my depth. The day came when I though me and Bob was gonna rumble and he backed down. He was a big dude. But I was gonna take the ass whupping on principle...if he could catch me. He was about 260 at that point. He had a girl friend half his age who weight about 98 lbs and was thoroughly scared of him. Bob Reid, a blast from the past of my youthful expatriate days.

Bob Reid Emergency Sound

Thanks for the info--do you happen to know if he was from Birmingham, Alabama USA? I found a few Emergency Sound LPs here, still sealed, about a year ago and suspect he may have family here.
